Leaky Condos, Nobody Wants to Take Responsibility!
December 31st, 2008Sorry to continue on the same theme, but there seems to be an endless amount of news around it right now.
Interestingly most of it coming form the Nanaimo Daily News. Anyway, in the article “It’s sick that leaky condos are still plaguing families” the point is raised that it is unacceptable that this problem has been going on for so long and still the government has not got a clear handle on it. I have to agree, but I also think we are all aware of the problem and know that it is still a large problem, so it comes back to Buyers doing the research before buying. If you were to buy a house that was poorly constructed and leaked later, there would probably not be an uproar about it.
Of course I know it is not that simple, there are people to blame, and those that should take responsibility, but this is the real world and we all know that things are often not as simple as they appear.
As well it is easy to say Buyer beware, but there area also all those that have been in the buildings since the beginning and al this is coming up now.
All in all, I am sure most agree that there is a massive problem here, and I think everyone including the government need to work together to solve it, rather than everyone trying to push all the blame ans responsibility around. Lets just come up with a plan of action and move forward.
Maybe the government should hold open forums like they did for health care, or something like that. Then a discussion that may be productive can at least be started.
