Yes the market is down all over the country, but certainly to different degrees in different places. I think most would agree that when you have a market like this there will be opportunities for good investments.

It seems that more and more condo developments in downtown Vancouver may be adding childcare spaces. There is one specifically that will be opening next year, Atelier on Robson. I think this is great for a city that is in desperate need of more spaces for childcare.

RBC has come out with an interesting report indicating that although prices have started to come down in the lower Mainland, it still costs almost twice as much to own here as other places in the country. The one exception seems to be condo which are at about 70% higher than other places.

I wrote recently about plans for for more high density housing in Calgary. Although this still seems to be the plan of the city planners, there has been acknowledgement that there may be less demand for this that was originally thought.
